Aluminum Channel 6063-T52

6063 is often called architectural aluminum for two reasons: first, it has a surface finish that is far smoother than the other commercially available alloys; and second, its strength is significantly less, (roughly half the strength of 6061), making it better suited for applications where strength is not the foremost consideration.

ASTM-B-211 & QQ-A-200/9

Square Corners

Applications: 6063 is the most common alloy used for aluminum extrusion. It allows complex shapes to be formed with very smooth surfaces fit for anodizing and so is popular for visible architectural applications such as window frames, door frames, roofs, and sign frames. Applications requiring higher strength typically use 6061.
