Brass Round Bar Free Cutting Half Hard Alloy 360

360 Free-Cutting Brass is a standard alloy of copper and zinc containing about three percent lead. The basic 60-40 mixture of copper and zinc forms an alloy with good strength and corrosion resistance; the small amount of lead provides the superior machinability that gives the alloy it familiar name. With these three constituent elements – copper, zinc and lead – the alloy is completely recyclable.

ASTM-B-16

Applications: 360 brass is frequently used in high-machining applications that require drilling, turning, and milling due to its’ machinability. Free machining brass has a machinability rating of 100. 360 brass also has excellent characteristics for brazing and soldering. 360 brass is not recommended for welding.
